Ross-on-Wye May Fayre 2014
The Ross-on-Wye May Fayre will take place on Sunday 25th May 2014 in the centre of Ross. The main routes through the centre of town are closed to traffic all day, to ensure that pedestrians can fully enjoy the town. Car parks will be clearly signed, and stewards are on hand throughout the day to direct you to any car park with spaces.
There will be Food and Craft Stalls, celebrating the reputation of Ross being a historic market town with something for everyone. Many of the local cafes and eateries will have tables and chairs out in the pedestrianised areas, so people can relax and enjoy the atmosphere and environment. There's an art exhibition showcasing works by local artists and the burgeoning talents of the art students - get a Masterpiece before the artist is well known!
There is a Japanese proverb that reads "We're fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance." Well, we've got plenty of Dance in the May Fayre - including a Maypole! There are 5 entertainment stages (Gloucester Road, High Street/Market Place, Broad Street, Brookend Street & The Crofts) which will have a variety of music & dance throughout the day (Folk, Bagpipes, Show-tunes, Pop, etc). Children's entertainment will also be taking place throughout the town; with dedicated activities taking place in various locations. Punch & Judy, Face Painting, the 'Beat, Bang, Bong' drum workshop and many more.
For further information, please contact David Macgregor (Event Organiser) at david@field-fayre.co.uk or Ian Dearlove (Deputy Event Organiser) at ian.dearlove@gmail.com. Programmes for the event are available from many of the shops in Ross at only £1, if you cannot find one beforehand they're also available on the day, and will help you navigate through the events and stalls available at the event.
